Brighton Marina Commercial Development
£2.4M concrete package
A five-storey mixed-use development requiring a full concrete frame estimate including pad foundations, ground beams, reinforced columns, flat slabs, and staircore walls. Our estimate was within 1.8% of the final contract sum.
Surrey Housing Development — 48 Units
£780K concrete package
A 48-unit residential development across three plot types. We produced complete foundation estimates and ground floor slab cost plans for each house type, enabling the developer to fix their subcontract pricing before groundworks commenced.
Manchester Distribution Warehouse
£1.1M concrete package
A 12,000m² industrial floor slab for a major logistics operator. The estimate covered sub-base, blinding, reinforced ground-bearing slab, power float finish, movement joints, and dock leveller pits. We also modelled an alternative jointless floor for comparison.
West London Basement Extension
£195K concrete package
A complex basement extension beneath a Victorian terrace in Kensington. The estimate covered contiguous piled walls, reinforced base slab, waterproofing system, and temporary works support. Our estimate assisted the client in negotiating a final contract price saving £24K against initial contractor quotes.
Scottish Wind Farm Access Roads
£630K concrete package
Access roads and hardstandings for a 22-turbine wind farm in Perthshire. We estimated concrete road pavements, turbine base hardstandings, drainage channel units, and cable duct crossings across a dispersed site. Regional material pricing for a remote location was a key challenge, addressed through direct supplier dialogue.
Bristol School Extensions
£420K concrete package
Two classroom block extensions to an existing primary school, requiring careful construction phasing around the school calendar. Our estimate covered reinforced concrete sub-structure and superstructure elements, with a full programme-linked cost plan to support the client's cash flow modelling.

Case Study: Brighton Marina Development
THE CHALLENGE
The client, a regional developer, needed a watertight concrete estimate for a complex five-storey RC frame to support a fixed-price D&B tender. They had received wildly varying subcontractor prices and needed independent verification before proceeding.
OUR APPROACH
We reviewed the structural engineer's drawings and specification in detail, produced a full concrete quantity takeoff, prepared a BS 8666-compliant reinforcement schedule, and obtained competitive ready-mix pricing from four regional suppliers. We modelled the estimates by floor level to enable the developer to phase their procurement.
THE RESULT
The developer awarded the concrete subcontract at £2.37M, just 1.8% above our estimate of £2.33M. They subsequently appointed Britespire Construct as their preferred estimator for all future projects.
